Laminate flooring is a beautiful alternative to solid hardwood flooring. It's cost-effective and can mimic costly flooring materials like hardwood or stone, and it's significantly more rugged than hardwood floors. Laminate is stain-resistant and easy to maintain.
What is Laminate Flooring?
Laminate flooring is made from multiple layers; first backing, then core, next decorative layer, and finally the wear layer. These layers create an exceptionally dense surface.
Most laminate is water-resistant based on its composition. Some brands have a high-density foam core that has been treated with wax to offer an impermeable barrier when clicked together.
Embossed Laminate: this finishing technique copies grain pattern of wood to achieve a realistic look.
Handscraped Laminate: despite not being made or scraped by hand, this floor is designed and styled to look like natural wood with a rustic appearance.
Smooth Laminate: a flooring without texture, it’s sold in various finishes from matte to high gloss for a smooth to the touch final result.
